Horace, Epode 6.11-16
Cave, cave, namque in malos asperrimus
Parata tollo cornua,
Qualis Lycambae spretus infido gener
Aut acer hostis Bupalo.
15 An si quis atro dente me petiverit,
Inultus ut flebo puer?
Beware, beware, I am most biting against villains, and I raise my horns at the ready, the sort that the scorned son-in-law raised against the deceptive Lycambes, or the bitter enemy of Bupalus. If anyone comes at me with their black jaws, will I cry like child without revenge?
