Philosophos quidem et poetas duros ac saxeos uulgus existimat, sed in hoc fallitur ut in multis; carnei enim sunt, humanitatem retinent, abiciunt uoluptates.
Indeed, the crowd thinks that philosophers and poets are unfeeling and made of stone, but in this they are mistaken as in many things; for they are made of flesh, they retain their humanity, they are subject to desires.
